Online Safety at Our School

At Laycock Academy, we teach Online Safety weekly through Project Evolve.

We use Project Evolve to teach children how to stay safe, confident and responsible online. Through age-appropriate lessons and discussions, pupils develop the knowledge and skills they need to navigate the digital world safely.

Project Evolve supports our online safety curriculum by exploring important topics such as online relationships, privacy, digital wellbeing, managing online risks and knowing what to do if something goes wrong. Children are encouraged to think critically, make safe choices and understand how their actions can affect themselves and others.

We believe that online safety is an essential part of every child's education. By providing regular opportunities to learn, discuss and reflect, we empower our pupils to use technology positively, respectfully and safely, both in school and at home.

Online Safety is also covered in our PSCE lessons that are taught through The Story Project and using the West Yorkshire Police Pol-Ed Resources.
